Our Art Deco Lighting range is inspired by the Art Deco movement which gained popularity in the early 1920’s. The period takes it’s name from a shortened form of the French term Arts Décoratifs.
Inspiring everything from architecture to furniture and even fashion. Taking inspiration from Egyptian, Myan, Oriental and Middle Eastern styles, Deco incorporated fine art and cubist design along with the fine Art Neuvo styling cues to create a completely new modern and luxurious style of design.
With 1920’s America creating building landmarks like the Chrysler Building and the Empire State in New York, the Art Deco style swept the world and typifies glamour and excess, showing huge popularity until WW2 where a more austere modernism crept in.
